CIVIL ENGINEERING (with emphasis in Transportation) INTERN POSITION
Job Summary
Civil Engineering Intern is a part time position for students enrolled in an ABET accredited college civil engineering program with emphasis in transportation. This position may lead to full time position after graduation.
Under close and frequent supervision, incumbent assists Engineers by performing the routine aspects of civil engineering assignments, subsequently providing familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.
Responsibilities and Duties

Prepares, or assists in the preparation of engineering documents, details, schedules, or reports as assigned under the direct supervision of a licensed engineer.

Each person is expected to help out in whatever duties are required to deliver a quality project on schedule.

Developing knowledge and proficiency in firm’s drafting standards, CADD software.

Performs civil design calculations (i.e., grading, drainage, paving, geometric design, utility design, etc.), sketches, technical comparisons and similar technical work as required by assignment.

Assists in the production of drawings, graphs, charts, exhibits and other project documents.

Research code issues and works with City, State, and County officials. Research design options and documents findings for Project Engineers and/or Project Managers.

Assists with other duties assigned by Project Engineers and/or Project Managers
Qualifications and Skills

Enrollment in ABET accredited college civil engineering program with emphasis in Transportation.

High GPA a must

Students with a status of Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in the Fall of 2023.
We are a local transportation design engineering firm, located adjacent to the City of Santa Ana Train Station, and established by a UCI Alumni who is well known in the transportation engineering industry. Our office is less than ½ hour from UCI campus and majority of our staff are UCI grads.
