Position Overview
AYCE is seeking a full-time Entry-Level Civil Engineer with an emphasis in transportation engineering. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in roadway design, project delivery, and multidisciplinary coordination.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team-oriented, and technically curious, with a solid foundation in engineering principles and design software.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform civil engineering calculations, including grading, drainage, geometric design, and utility design
• Assist with highway and roadway design using MicroStation/InRoads and Civil 3D
• Prepare sketches, technical analyses, and design alternatives
• Coordinate with engineers, technicians, and project teams to support project delivery
• Review plans and drawings from vendors, clients, and other consultants; recommend revisions
• Research applicable codes, standards, and agency requirements (City, County, State)
• Document technical findings and support preparation of project deliverables
• Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers with day-to-day project tasks
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment to deliver high-quality projects on schedule
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (transportation emphasis preferred)
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within one year
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D
• Exposure to MicroStation/InRoads is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
